Sleep is a place.
Choose where you go.
Lucida speaks your intention as you cross into sleep, then keeps the thread alive through the night — the same audio-cue method MIT and Harvard used to steer dreams in the lab. Two minutes of setup. Eight hours of direction.
Free. No download — your browser and a pair of headphones.
Lucid flight
“I am flying, weightless, over a silver sea.”
How a night works
Two minutes awake. A directed dream all night.
Choose
Pick a preset like Lucid Flight or The Reunion, start from a need, or write your own. Each dream carries a spoken intention and a signature sound.
Prime
Hear your intention bound to its sound for sixty seconds while awake. This tags the theme so your sleeping brain can find it again — the core of targeted memory reactivation.
Drift
Lights off. As you cross into sleep, your intention is spoken softly in the hypnagogic window — the few minutes when the brain is most suggestible.
Guided
Lucida holds a quiet bed of sound and resurfaces your cue at the moments dreams form, timed to typical sleep cycles. Soft enough to steer without waking you.
Recall
A gradual wake, then one question: what do you remember? Logging it takes thirty seconds and measurably sharpens recall night over night.
The evidence
Directing dreams with sound is not a metaphor. It's a method.
We didn't invent dream control — we made the lab protocol usable from bed. Every claim below links to the original study.
Targeted Dream Incubation (TDI)
You set a clear intention and hear it spoken as you drift off, in the hypnagogic window when the brain is most suggestible.
Targeted Memory Reactivation (TMR)
Each dream gets a signature sound. You bind it to your intention while awake, then Lucida replays it softly through the night to nudge the theme back to the surface.
Acoustic slow-wave & brainwave entrainment
A noise bed and gentle binaural tones support the deep and REM stages where dreams form, tuned low enough never to wake you.
We show that dream incubation is not only possible, it shapes what people dream about — and the effects carry into waking creativity.

Pick tonight's dream
Realise you're dreaming — then soar.
A safe, quiet place where nothing can reach you.
Drift between galaxies and impossible worlds.
Spend a night with someone you miss.
Let your sleeping mind solve it for you.
Turn a recurring nightmare into safety.
Rehearse the bold version of you.
A warm, tender dream of connection.
The honest part
What we promise — and what we don't.
Audio cues at sleep onset reliably influence dream content, and sounds replayed during sleep reactivate the memories they were paired with. That's the foundation Lucida is built on.
Lab studies time cues to your exact brain state with EEG. Lucida uses typical sleep-cycle timing instead, so results vary night to night — keeping the dream journal sharply improves your odds.
Night cues stay quiet enough to guide a dream without waking you, and one tap stops everything. Lucida is a wellness tool, not a medical device.

Questions
Asked, answered
Will I really dream what I choose?+
Often you'll notice clear elements of your chosen theme; other nights it's subtler. In the controlled MIT/Harvard studies, the majority of sleepers incorporated the cued theme. Priming before bed and journaling on waking are the two biggest levers you control.
Do I need any special hardware?+
No. Lucida runs in your browser and works through your phone or a bedside speaker. Headphones or earbuds make the binaural tones and quiet cues more effective, but aren't required.
Is it safe to play sound all night?+
Yes. After the sleep-onset window, Lucida drops to a soft bed of sound and only surfaces brief, quiet cues at the moments dreams form — tuned to guide, not wake. You can stop with one tap.
Is it really free?+
Yes. Everything is free during the beta and founders keep full access. We'll add optional Pro features later; the core dream-direction engine stays free.
